About Noti Botanica

My name is Logan Keister, I am an herbalist and the founder of Noti Botanica.

Noti Botanica brings together my work as a clinical herbalist, wildcrafter, ecological landscape designer, herbal medicine maker, astrologer, and mycologist into a single domain from which I may share my work. My vision is to be in service to all life. To the plants, the fungi, and to all beings that share this earth with us. Through teaching, clinical herbalism, crafting herbal remedies, cultivating and wild harvesting medicinal plants and fungi, my hope is that these simple acts will help to harmonize myself and those around me with the intelligence and light of nature.

My Craft

I have been an avid gardener since I was a child and have grown into the permaculture and regenerative agriculture movement. My specialty is in growing valuable medicinal plants from all over the world, here in the Pacific Northwest using regenerative agricultural practices. I am currently growing my medicinal herbs in my garden in Noti, Oregon. I grow without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers in a no-till system that supports a diverse range of edible and medicinal plants. I cultivate many rare and "at-risk" species to help propagate them to ensure their continued survival such as Goldenseal, Black cohosh, Stone Root, Rhodiola, Lomatium and Mandrake.

I still get the majority of my medicinal plants from the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. I have been wild harvesting plants and mushrooms since I was a child and, studying botany and herbalism since 2016. I have been monitoring the stands of wild medicinals that I harvest from for many years and always take care to survey the impacts that my harvesting practices may have on the wild populations. Only through building relationships with these plant and fungal allies for many years within their native domains can you truly build a relationship with them that is reciprocal. Reciprocity is key in my practice when it comes to wildcrafting and the relationships I have built with them over the years have shown me how to honor these allies. I always work first with nature and only take as much as I need and don't take anything if the population can't sustain it.

I hope that people can find some connection to nature through my work. Whether you learn something from my writing, work one-on-one in a holistic health consultation, or foster connection through working with the medicinal preparations I have to offer. When we become more aware of our plant and fungal allies, we can better harmonize with the beauty of nature. This is our medicine path.
